That really sucks! Hope it does decide to come back - that was beautiful! The only weird thing I have in my yard is that my lilac budded, but they've never opened! usually they bloom the same time as my crabapple, so my yard smells amazing, but the crabapple is almost done now and still no lilacs!
That just sucks! Such fragile beauty can't stand up to old man winter. I hope it recovers. You are not alone in your "crazy spring" it is 29C (85 F) here today, by Friday it will be 3C (37F), 48 degree difference! But the day will come when Sweet Lady Spring squeezes the life out of Old Man Winter...can't wait.
Japanese maples are so pretty. There were so many of them in Vancouver. Very silly idea, moving from there to the U.K.
Spring here in England has been mostly cold and wet. Nothing new about that, but it doesn't mean you enjoy it. Here's to the outlook improving on both sides of the Atlantic.
